Officer's gun, badge stolen during Huron Twp. home invasion

HURON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) -

Huron Township police say an officer's gun and badge were stolen during a home invasion Monday morning.

Police Chief Greg Hinzmann confirmed that the robbery suspect fled on foot near the area of Verna Lane and was caught shortly after.

The badge was recovered in a wooded area near officer's home.

Police say K-9 units are on the scene as the search for the weapon continues.
