Thieves rob popular downtown Detroit party store

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT (WJBK) -

Some bold thieves used their vehicle as a battering ram to rob a well-known Detroit liquor store.

It happened around 5 a.m. at the Happy Four Party Store on Fort Street, right across from the U.S. Post Office.

Thieves backed their vehicle into the building, plowing a hole through the cement wall. They made off with three cash registers along with bottles of top-shelf booze and cartons of cigarettes.

The owner tells FOX 2 the store's alarm failed to go off. To make matters worse, the store's security cameras also failed.
