A father and avid cyclist from Troy has gone missing. One person is in custody being questioned about the disappearance. Police say there were signs of an assault inside his home.

Police confirm that an active search is underway Friday for the body of a missing Troy father.
Troy Cpt. Robert Redmond tells FOX 2 that authorities are following up on tips and searching several areas, including the Holly Recreation Area in northern Oakland County and an area in Montrose, Mich. Redmond says cadaver dogs are being used.
Police are calling the missing case of Patrick Mikes, Sr. a homicide. Investigators say the evidence found in the basement of a Mikes' home on Homewood points to a violent assault so bloody that no one could have survived it. They also say the victim's oldest son appears to be lying.
Troy Police are untangling a web of lies that point to 21-year-old Patrick Mikes, Jr. as a possible killer. The Notre Dame student home for summer break reported his 55-year-old father missing on Sunday and said his dad was last seen going for a bike ride Friday night.
Police now say that story is not true. They say Mikes' helmet and riding shoes were found at the home, items he would not go biking without, and they say Patrick Mikes, Junior exhibited suspicious behavior Friday night.
"Investigators have also obtained video evidence showing Patrick Mikes, Junior purchasing a quantity of cleaning supplies at a local store," said Troy Police Captain Robert Redmond.
Police say the victim's younger son, Andrew, who is not a suspect, now says he last saw his dad Thursday night. Mikes did not report to work on Friday morning.
