WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) -

Four people, including a 4-year-old, were injured in a multiple vehicle accident Thursday night in Waterford Township.

Police say a 59-year-old man driving a 2008 Chevy Trailbrazer ran a red light at West Huron and Voorheis Road, causing a chain reaction that left five vehicles damaged. The driver, whose identity was not released, was transported to a local hospital and listed in critical condition.

Police say two other victims, including the 4-year-old, are listed in serious condition at a local hospital. The fourth victim was treated and released.

Police say all drivers and passengers were wearing seatbelts and the 4-year-old was secured in a child safety seat. Alcohol does not appear to have been a factor.

The accident is still under investigation.
