A lawyer for ex-Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick says his client lost weight with help from something worn behind his ears.
James Thomas talked about it Wednesday after reporters sitting behind Kilpatrick in federal court noticed small objects.
Thomas says Kilpatrick's appetite is suppressed by occasionally massaging the area behind the ears. He says the former mayor has lost 16 pounds.
Kilpatrick looked fit in his four-button, tailored suit. He declined to talk to reporters on a day when hundreds of potential jurors reported to federal court to fill out a questionnaire for his upcoming corruption trial.
