DETROIT (WJBK) -
From jazz to hip-hop, Kid Rock is making sure all types of music will be part of an interactive music lab at the Detroit Historical Museum.
The Kid Rock Foundation is donating $250,000 to the Detroit Historical Society to establish what will be known as the Kid Rock Music Lab, an interactive gallery that covers more than 100 years of Detroit's musical history.

The music lab will feature activities on naming artists from music samples and a station for visitors to create their own songs.
The museum has been closed since May for renovations, but will reopen on Nov. 23.
