Famed sportswriter, novelist and humanitarian, now Mitch Albom is adding film director to his list of accomplishments.
Albom's newest project is called, "Leslie," a two-episode short film series written and directed by Albom and airing on the WIGS YouTube Channel. Detroit's very own Anthony "Cass" Castelow joined Mitch to talk about this media project that also includes actress Catherine O'Hara. Leslie is a comedy about an unlikely friendship between an actress and a homeless man she discovers.
In addition to the film, Mitch is also working to mobilize Detroiters for his "100 Houses Project." which takes place Saturday, August 25th. The idea is to board up as many abandoned homes in the city to help make Detroit's neighborhoods safer. Volunteers are asked to meet at the Josefiak play lot in the area of Grenier and Fairport at 8 a.m.
