AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (WJBK) -

31-year-old Anthony Prainito of Royal Oak has been charged nearly two weeks after the crash that injured Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson.

Prainito was in court Wednesday facing three counts of a moving violation causing serious impairment, which is a misdemeanor.  He was given a $50,000 personal bond and ordered to surrender his driver's license.

The crash happened August 10 at the intersection of Walton and Opdyke in Auburn Hills.  Patterson and his driver, James Cram, both suffered serious injuries.

Prainito's passenger, Raymond Recchia, was also badly hurt.

According to the prosecutor, Recchia was the only person wearing a seatbelt.

In response to the charges, Chief Deputy County Executive Gerald Poisson released the following statement on behalf of the County Executive Office:

"The driver of the other vehicle has been charged with negligent driving causing serious injury to Brooks, Jim Cram, and the passenger in the other car. The Executive Office thanks Auburn Hills police for their professionalism in conducting a thorough investigation. This matter is now in the       hands of the courts."

73-year-old Patterson remains in stable condition at Mclaren Oakland Hospital where he is continuing to recover from his injuries following three surgeries to repair broken bones.  According to a spokesperson, no date has been set for Patterson's discharge from the hospital.
