A cruise ship that ran aground in the Detroit River has now been freed. It happened Saturday night around 8pm in Wyandotte. The US Coast Guard and Wayne County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene where about 120 passengers were on board. No one was hurt.

A commercial tug boat was used to free the 216-foot Yorktown early Sunday. An inspection found no significant damage, and the Cleveland-bound ship was able to continue on its route.
It's not clear why the ship ran aground. A Coast Guard spokesperson says buoys in the area seemed to be in place
