Police in Warren stopped a man who admitted to drinking and driving, but instead of arresting him, he was released.
The reason? The officer was on overtime.
Back on May 10, police reportedly stopped 54-year-old Ronald Usher, who was riding his motorcycle drunk near his Warren home. He refused to take a Breathalyzer test.
The man admitted to police he drank a six-pack of beer before hitting the road. He also didn't have a valid license and had a history of drunk driving. Despite all these signs, the officer's watch commander told him not to make the arrest because the officer was on overtime.
Police towed the motorcycle and the man was given a ticket for his string of offenses, including: careless driving, driving on a suspended license and refusing to take a breath test.
When Usher went to court, however, he reached a plea deal and was charged with impeding traffic, a misdemeanor carrying a $175 fine.
No Warren officials would go on camera for an interview.
