Man charged after fight over cigarettes leads to assault

LIVONIA, Mich. (WJBK) -

A 61-year old man remains in critical condition after a fight over cigarettes turned violent inside a group home for psychiatric patients in Livonia.

Police say they were called to the home in the 30400 block of Barkley at approximately 6:15 p.m. Sunday on a report of an assault. Officers found a man lying on the floor inside the home, unconscious and bleeding from the head. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is in critical but stable condition.

A fellow patient, identified as 47-year old Kil Won Choe,  was taken into custody and has been arraigned on charges of Assault with Intent to Murder. Bond was set at $250,000 Cash.
