The memory of a Hazel Park police officer lives on with the help of a new crime fighting companion.  Nags is a two-year-old German Shepherd training to be a narcotics tracking dog for the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.

The money to buy Nags came from the Jessica Nagle-Wilson Charitable Foundation.  The donation was made to commemorate the tenth anniversary of her death.

Officer Nagle-Wilson was shot on July 28, 2002 while responding to a complaint of a dog off its leash.  She was the first Hazel Park officer killed in the line of duty.

The dog was named Nags because that was Nagle-Wilson's nickname.

Donations to the Jessica Nagle-Wilson Foundation can be sent to 2226 Camel, Sterling Heights, MI  48310.
