A surveillance camera is putting the spotlight on a man suspected of removing money from the cash register at a Family Video store in Waterford Township.
Investigators say a 24-year-old employee of the store at 1187 W. Huron, stepped away from the register to help customers and return movies to their shelves. When the employee returned to the register he noticed money was missing from the cash drawer.
Waterford Twp. police say a store surveillance system shows a white male with a shaved head and mustache walking around and speaking with the store's employee for a few minutes. When the clerk left the counter the suspect goes to the register, opens it and removes money.
The man, who was wearing a blue t-shirt with a picture of a car on it and blue jean shorts, then leaves the store.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Waterford Township police at (248)674-2677 or Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
