WATERFORD, Mich. (WJBK) -

A gas station clerk survives being dragged by a car after a violent confrontation with a woman in Waterford.

Police say a 63-year old employee at the Sunoco gas station at 5775 Dixie told officers a woman came into the store on the morning of August 8 and tried to buy several things with a credit card. When the clerk checked the suspect's ID and it did not match the information on the credit card, he wrote down the suspect's information on the receipt.

That's when the woman reached across the counter, grabbed the receipt and left the store.

According to police, the victim followed the suspect to the parking lot and struggled with the woman as he tried to get the receipt back. When the suspect tried to drive away the clerk became entangled in the vehicle and was dragged several feet before he was able to break free.

The suspect who is facing a felonious assault charge is described as a white woman, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. She was driving a dark blue vehicle with a plate of CBS4554.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Waterford Police.
