FLINT, Mich. (AP) -

The remains of Army Pfc. Shane Cantu have returned from Afghanistan to Michigan, where his funeral takes place Monday.

The 20-year-old Corunna High School graduate died Aug. 28 of shrapnel wounds.

A charter jet delivered his body to Flint's Bishop Airport about noon Thursday.

Family members surrounded the hearse, and an American flag hung over fire truck's ladder.

Cantu's mother Jennifer Clarke cried as she clutched a photo of her son in his Army uniform, as her husband Michael held her.

Genesee, Shiawassee and Clinton County sheriff's deputies joined Corunna, Owosso and state police escorted the body to Corunna.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Nelson-House Funeral Home in Owosso. The funeral is at 5 p.m. Monday at Corunna High School.
