Mistrial for man in killing of girl over cellphone

DETROIT -
A judge has declared a mistrial in the case against a man accused of fatally shooting a 12-year-old Detroit school girl during a dispute between the girl's mother and his mother over a cellphone.
Honor student Kade'jah Davis was killed Jan. 31 by shots fired through the door of her home.
Joshua Brown is charged with first-degree murder. Wayne County Circuit Judge Vonda Evans declared a mistrial Thursday after four days of jury deliberations.
Thirty-five-year-old Heather Brown pleaded no contest in August to being an accessory after the fact for driving her son to the killing scene. She faces sentencing Oct. 2.
Prosecutors say Joshua Brown accompanied his mother to confront the girl's mother over the disappearance of Heather Brown's cellphone from an office where she worked.
