Joseph Gentz pleaded guilty Friday to second-degree murder in the strangulation of Jane Bashara.

A Wayne County Circuit judge has denied a request to lower the bond for Bob Bashara, the Grosse Pointe businessman charged with trying to hire a hitman to kill his former handyman.
Judge Bruce Morrow's decision comes after a brief hearing last week where Bashara's attorney, Mark Kriger, told the judge the bond of $15 million was excessive.
Wayne County prosecutors argued that Bashara's bond should remain the same alleging witness intimidation and a possible new girlfriend.
Bashara faces up to life in prison as prosecutors say he tried to hire a hit man to kill Joseph Gentz, his wife's alleged murderer.
Gentz, who faces first-degree murder charges, says Bashara promised him cash to kill Jane Bashara back in January.
