DPD officer injured in crash trying to stop fleeing individual - Fox 2 News Headlines

DETROIT -- Detroit Police say an officer was involved in an car accident Tuesday.  From SkyFOX, we could see the officer hit a garage in the area of Gladys and Gilbert.

We're told another officer was talking to a person of interest when the individual suddenly fled.  That officer chased after the person on foot and the officer passing by in the squad car tried to cut the individual off, but ended up crashing.

The officer was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.
