Police: Scrapper killed trying to steal copper - Fox 2 News Headlines

A disturbing scene on Detroit's west side where a man was found dead, hanging from a power pole.

The man was discovered just after eight a.m. in the area of Lawton and Putnam streets.

Detroit police say the man was trying to steal copper from the transformer on a DTE Energy Co. pole when he was electrocuted. So far the man has not been positively identified.

A DTE crew was called in to cut power and use a cherry picker to bring the man's body down.
