DETROIT (WJBK) - Tigers fans flocked to Comerica Park to be among the first to purchase World Series gear following the team's sweep of the New York Yankees in the American League Championship Series.

The D Shop doors opened at 5 a.m. Friday and items like the official Tigers World Series cap sold out in less than five hours.

Supply of the ALCS Championship t-shirt was also running low, but officials expect another shipment in Friday afternoon.

"I knew the small shirts were going fast," said Tammy O'Neill, who drove down from Clarkston to purchase a shirt.

"It is so great to be four wins away from (winning) the World Series," said Art Wieckowski, a season ticket holder who took in the sights around the ballpark.

Several fans came down to the box office after hearing rumors of available World Series tickets. But that proved to be false. Games 3, 4, and 5 are sold out.

The World Series is set to begin Wednesday night on FOX.
