As the Detroit Tigers prepare to take on the San Francisco Giants in the World Series here's some advice for the many baseball fans who are bound to be sleep deprived.
Forget about sticking to your regular bedtime routine over the next several days. You've got the American League pennant champs to cheer on! With games starting every night at eight p.m. there's a good chance adrenaline may keep you up until about midnight or after. So what's a true blue fan to do?
Instead of slamming caffeine the next day, consider the power nap. Sleep experts say just fifteen minutes can give you incredible benefits. And even if you've got a desk job, you don't have to get caught with your head on the desk. During your lunch break find a safe, quiet spot to quickly recharge your battery.
Experts say to get the most out of your power nap, do it between one and three in the afternoon. Aim for less than 30 minutes so you don't wake up groggy and try to block out the light so you fall asleep faster.
You'll help increase motor performance, cognitive skills and decrease stress levels and your risk of heart disease. Go Tigers!
