DETROIT (myFOXDetroit.com) -

3:44 PM 10/30/2012 --  Mike Rataj, Evelyn's partner on the Bobby Ferguson defense team, tells Fox 2 that Doctors are still doing tests but say it's not life threatening. Doctors tell Rataj they believe the episode was brought on by stress.

Evelyn is known as a hard worker, and Doctors say he may not have been getting enough sleep or eating right.

Evelyn just finished another big trial, the Bobby Ferguson bid rigging case, which ended in a mistrial.

11:30 am 10/30/2012 -- The Kilpatrick Corruption trial is on hold at least until Monday, November 5th.

Bobby Ferguson's attorney Gerald Evelyn was grilling a witness for the prosecution when he stopped, asked the Judge for a 5 minute break, then sat down at the defense table with his head in his hands.

Judge Nancy Edmunds called in court medical personnel then cleared the court room. Paramedics were also called and they whisked Evelyn off to Detroit Receiving Hospital.

According to Media Information Officer Rod Hansen: Evelyn is in stable condition and resting comfortably.

Judge Edmunds held a brief meeting with the attorneys on Monday after Evelyn's collapse to discuss contingency plans and canceled the next day's session.

After another meeting with the attorneys Tuesday morning, Hansen says Judge Edmunds decided to cancel testimony for the rest of the week.  She has another meeting with the attorneys schedule for Friday.  Jurors have been asked to call in Sunday afternoon to find out if Evelyn will be well enough to come back.

I'll keep you updated here and we'll have updates on Fox 2 News and MyFoxDetroit.com as they come in.
