WARREN, Mich. (WJBK) -- From trick-or-treating to a winter wonderland, Art Van is rolling out the red carpet for the holidays in Warren.

"Tonight is the kickoff of Art Van's Christmas Wonderland, which is the launch of the Christmas season at Art Van Furniture," said spokesperson Amelia Ellenstein.  "What's most exciting about tonight is we're turning on the lights, and there are over 1 million lights at the Art Van store on 14 Mile Road."

We're told the installation will be in place through the beginning of January.

"At Art Van Furniture, we pride ourselves on being a family-owned company and being all about the families that work here and shop here, and so we wanted to create an experience with families in mind," Ellenstein added.

Beginning Thanksgiving weekend, Ellenstein says families can also visit the store to get a complimentary photo with Santa Claus on Saturdays and Sundays.

Warren Mayor Jim Fouts, Detroit Mayor Dave Bing and Art Van Elslander were all on hand for the unveiling Thursday.

"I remember Hudson's years ago, and I think we're looking to duplicate that and have it become even more so," said Van Elslander.

The Wonderland also features eight gingerbread houses designed by Oakland County Community College students and a custom made Santa House created by the Parade Company.
