NYC Housing Authority to give rent credit

MYFOXNY.COM -

The New York City Housing Authority announced that it will be giving rent adjustments to people in developments that were severely impacted by Hurricane Sandy.

Residents will receive a rent credit for any days they were without essential services such as electric, elevators, heat and water.

Officials say the credits will be included in the January 2013 rent bill and the NYC Housing Authority is asking that residents continue to pay their normal rent until the credits are reflected on their bill.

Some people are upset that it is taking until January for the credits but the authority says it is going to take that long because of its computer system.
