SmokefreeTXT is a new service being offered by Smokefree.gov. According to the website, smokers who sign up will receive text messages offering "encouragement, advice and tips" to assist them in quitting.
You can complete the sign-up process on your phone or computer. Be prepared to respond to a handful of questions. You can unsubscribe at any time.
The government does caution that the company providing your cell phone service will charge you for the text messages if you don't have a plan that allows for unlimited texts.
