A plane destined for Fort Lauderdale, Fla., was held on the tarmac at New York's LaGuardia Airport while authorities removed and arrested a passenger for allegedly making a threatening comment.

The Port Authority said the person was removed from the plane after making a remark to another passenger that was perceived as a threat.

That passenger, a man from upsate New York, was charged with making a terroristic threat and filing a false report, the New York Post reported.

SkyFoxHD video from the scene showed several police cars around the plane and a movable stairwell at the plane. A bus was also at the location.

Passengers' luggage was rescreened, the Post reported. After no threats were found, police cleared the jet for takeoff.

The Port Authority said around 12:15 p.m. that the Spirit Airlines flight was expected to leave shortly.

Other air traffic continued at the airport during the investigation.
