Man arrested for having police lights on his Cadillac

TROY, Mich. (WJBK) -

Police in Troy have arrested a 23-year old man after he was caught using illegal flashing lights on his Cadillac Escalade.

Investigators say on Saturday they got a call from a driver who was following a car that had pulled up behind him, flashed emergency lights and when he pulled over sped around him and took off.

A Troy officer located and stopped both vehicles and it was determined the Cadillac had red and blue lights in the grille area, which is a violation of a city ordinance. The Hamtramck man admitted he activated the lights saying he was upset because he felt the other driver had cut him off.

He was arrested for possession of flashing, oscillating or rotating red/blue lights.
