An off-duty Detroit Police officer was involved in a deadly shooting early Thursday morning, after trying to quell an argument between a man and his girlfriend.
The veteran officer was at a Valero gas station on West 7 Mile at approximately 3 a.m. Thursday, when he observed an argument between the couple.
When he walked over to break it up, the boyfriend pulled a gun and began shooting.
The officer returned fire, striking the man in the chest, killing him. We're told the officer was wounded, struck in the hand.
He's listed in temporary-serious condition and is being treated at a local hospital.
