“Get together, get focused” encourages Governor Snyder to Detroit City Council

Governor Rick Snyder toured Hiller's Market in Northville today, checking out their newest energy-saving improvements. After the tour he offered some advice to those in Detroit trying to figure out the cash crisis.

"I really encourage them to get together, get focused, hold meetings, to get things done to move ahead. Because every day that passes that things aren't decided or moved forward it's going to be more and more difficult for them to get out of their financial crisis," Snyder said.

The council and the mayor are debating a law firm contract. And because of that the state is refusing to release 30 million dollars in bond money.

While Detroit City Council President Charles Pugh argues this "hostage" of the money is "unfortunate," Snyder says "We're waiting for them to follow through with their side and when they follow through we will release the money."
