It's the kind of news no one wants... especially during the holidays. About 300 GM Sub-Systems Manufacturing employees have been told they will loose a week of pay during the holiday shutdown.
"We're all in trouble now cause we can't pay our bills," says autoworker who wishes to remain anonymous.
And their only option is to file for unemployment.
"We're told in our contract that we would get paid for the whole Christmas break that we were scheduled to have off," says autoworker who wishes to remain anonymous.
But GM released a statement saying in part GM Sub-Systems Manufacturing, LLC is a separate entity and its employees are not covered by the UAW-GM National Agreement. GM Sub-Systems Manufacturing, LLC has an agreement with the UAW and is abiding by the provisions of that agreement. Meanwhile the UAW is trying to fight it..but this autoworker fears the battle is already lost.
"If we could we would like to work through the whole thing they are telling us we cannot. We were all counting on this pay," says autoworker who wishes to remain anonymous.
