2 dead, 1 injured in Brooklyn SUV crash - Fox 2 News Headlines

Police say two off-duty corrections officers died and an off-duty officer was injured after two SUVs collided in Brooklyn early Sunday morning.
Authorities say a 43-year-old woman and a 31-year-old woman were traveling northbound on Kings Highway in East Flatbush around 4:40 a.m. riding in a gray 2004 Nissan Murano. Their SUV then swerved across several lanes of traffic onto the southbound side.
A 23-year-old officer was driving a gray 2006 Ford Explorer south between Snyder Avenue and Church Avenues when he slammed into the passenger's side door of the out-of-control Nissan.
Police say the two women were trapped in their SUV and had to be extricated by firefighters, who arrived quickly after the crash.
EMS took the two victims to Brookdale Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
Authorities said the two women were off-duty corrections officers from the George R. Vierno Center at Rikers Island.
The off-duty cop was taken to Kings County Hospital where he was listed in stable condition. He is an officer from the Williamsburg section.
The New York Post said witnesses told the paper the front end of the Ford Explorer he was driving was completely smashed, but the officer got out of his car and appeared shaken but OK.
Police are investigating the incident and no criminality is suspected.
