CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Traffic on the Kennedy Expressway was snarled Monday afternoon by a wandering dog.

The injured pooch was first spotted around 2 p.m. near Ohio street, walking north on the shoulder of the highway and darting in and out of traffic.

Several state police officers and IDOT minutemen, along with a good Samaritan, tried to get a hold of the dog, but the pup scooted past them.

The chase went on for two hours past North Avenue, until a worker got a lasso around the scared dog.

The dog was then taken to a vet center by Animal Care and Control and given pain medication for an apparent leg injury. He has no tag or microchip.
