Police: Former Political Reporter Sam Donaldson Arrested For DUI

LEWES, Del. -

Sam Donaldson, a former ABC News political reporter, was pulled over in Lewes, Del. earlier this month and arrested for driving under the influence, police announced Wednesday.

Police in Lewes confirm to FOX 29 News that Donaldson was pulled over on Savannah Road back on Dec. 1 for a traffic violation.

According to Police Chief Jeffrey Horvath, Donaldson's car was pulled over just before 8 p.m. Horvath says further investigation by officers revealed Donaldson had allegedly been drinking alcohol.

Donaldson was given a standard field sobriety test and was arrested.

According to police, Donaldson will have to appear in court at a later date.

    NICE EASTER WEEKEND

    The first half of the holiday weekend has been great and Easter Sunday looks just as nice. Clouds thin out late tonight with temperatures falling back to the 40s.

    Initially it'll be jacket weather early Sunday morning but plenty of sunshine will warm us into the 60s by afternoon.  High temperatures will be a few degrees cooler than Saturday.

    It will be noticeably cooler and breezy at the shore with highs in the low 50s.  Quiet conditions continue into Monday.

    The Coast Guard have suspended an emergency search for a man who went overboard in a boat after he went missing. New Jersey State Police have identified him as 49-year old John J. Poltonowicz.
