The parents charged with stealing their daughter's education from a Montgomery County school appeared in court Wednesday for their arraignment.

Hamlet and Olesia Garcia are accused of lying about where they lived so that they wouldn't have to pay out-of-district tuition for their daughter.

The parents maintain their innocence and claim that when they briefly separated, Olesia and her daughter moved in with her parents in Montgomery County.

When the couple reconciled late into the school year and moved back to their home in Philadelphia, they didn't take their daughter out of school.

Montgomery County officials claim the family never lived there and scammed the district out of nearly $11,000.
