Lapeer Schools cancel classes for the remainder of the week

LAPEER, Mich. (WJBK) -- Lapeer Public Schools will be shut down the rest of the week because of a possible threat of violence.
The superintendent admits there is no credible threat -- just rumors.
However, in light of the school shooting in Connecticut last week and the Mayan prediction that the world will end this Friday -- school officials have decided to cancel classes.
The holiday break is starting early. There will be no schoool in Lapeer until January 7, 2013.
