Shoppers scour malls for post-Christmas discounts

Posted: Updated:

After a day filled with presents, shoppers are going back to malls to return gifts they didn't like or find discounts on things they didn't get.

A new survey from the National Retail Federation estimates that 10 percent of all presents will be returned.

Although, FOX 10's Anita Roman found only happy shoppers at Scottsdale Fashion Square.

If you're looking for deals, they're definitely out there. Discounts may not be as deep as Black Friday, but you may see a better selection of sales items.

One shopper said she got about $400 worth of stuff for $100.

Some of the best deals to watch for:

Electronics: You'll see a big drop on HD TV's from now until the Super Bowl. Best Buy and Walmart have some of the best discounts.

Clothing: If you're looking for lingerie, Victoria Secret has more than 75 bra styles marked down 25 percent to 40 percent off.

Home goods: World Market has an online furniture sale with up to 50 percent off and free shipping on some orders.

Christmas decorations: This one is a no-brainer but is still worth mentioning. Find the best deals of the year on items for Christmas 2013.

Plus, popular websites from Target to Banana Republic are giving up to 50-60 percent off. Go online to find coupon or discount codes.

We've learned that holiday retail sales are the lowest they've been since 2008 -- and retailers are hoping that people will be bringing their gift cards in soon and spending them.
