Hungover? Chicago area doctor can help

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Party-goers all across Chicago will be out celebrating the New Year and some may be feeling the pain from that on New Year's Day.

That notion has made room for Chicago's first hydration clinic, designed to re-hydrate you after a long night of partying.

"It's common in the medical world," explains Dr. Jack Dybis of the Revive Hydration Clinic. "A lot of EMT's, paramedics, people in the military are very aware of this."

Revive Hydation Clinic just opened in the River North neighborhood. Although they don't endorse over indulging yourself at New Year's celebrations, you may now have an option for relief the next day.

"We do have a walk in policy, but we'd rather people call ahead because we don't want them when they're already feeling miserable," says Dr. Dybis. "We don't want them waiting around in a waiting room or standing around feeling miserable. We'd rather have them come in, get served and get on with their day."

The way it works is you meet with a doctor, determine what type of treatment you need and you are given an IV with fluids, vitamins and other anti-oxidants.

Dr. Dybis says depending on your body type and necessity for fluids, will determine how much you need to receive.

"You'll feel the difference within a half an hour, especially with the vitamin B, if you're coming in and feel beat down, a little bit," Dr. Dybis explains. "We gave Sam vitamin B and that's going to, he's going to continue to feel energized throughout the day."

Sam Fakhouri came in feeling flu-like symptoms today.

"I was a little stuffed up. I started feeling scratchiness in my throat, I was definitely feeling a bit dehydrated and now I'm started to feel a little bit better," says Fakhouri. "I'm more awake and I can already notice that some of my symptoms are being alleviated."

The price for a session is around $99. The goal is to expand to clients as not only a hangover cure, but cold and flu relief as well.
