Park Ridge hospital delivers its first baby of the new year

PARK RIDGE, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
A baby girl born 23 minutes after midnight was the first baby delivered at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge this year.
The 5-pound, 12-ounce girl was born at 12:23 a.m. to Aileen Herrera and Eduardo Jimenez of Arlington Heights, according to a release sent out by the hospital early Tuesday.
The baby girl joins a family that includes two older sisters, the release said. The baby had not been named as of early Tuesday, said hospital spokeswoman Robyn Ali.
The hospital gave the baby's parents a gift basket that includes bottles, bibs and booties, Ali said.
Advocate Lutheran General Hospital delivered 4,003 babies last year, according to preliminary year-end figures provided by the hospital.
