Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

It's only January 2nd, but a lot of people are already planning for summer.

There were long lines, as usual, this morning, as the Cook County Forest Preserve District began selling picnic permits.

The district says by noon, 807 permits were sold; most of them online.

The first person to get one got in line in River Forest Tuesday night at 5:45 p.m.

The most popular picnic spot is Dan Ryan Woods on the South Side.
