Maine West coach involved in hazing investigation fights to keep job

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

One of the coaches accused in the Maine West hazing investigation is fighting to keep his job.

Michael Divincenzo is accused of knowing soccer players were hazing younger athletes and doing nothing to stop it.

Last month, school board members voted unanimously to suspend Divincenzo without pay, but he's appealing the decision. He wants a hearing.

The appeals process could take more than a year.

Last summer, 33 people died after eating tainted cantaloupes.
