Transit Officials To Consider Installing Barriers On NYC Subway Platforms

Posted: Updated:

Transit officials in New York City are giving a second look at possibly installing barriers on subway platforms.

Three people died last month alone at subway stations.

Dozens of subway and light rail systems around the world have barriers with sliding doors on their platforms.

The MTA says it will consider a trial run.

The endeavor would be expensive and difficult to execute throughout the sprawling 100-year-old system, but one company has reportedly already offered to install the barriers for free in exchange for advertising revenue.
