I-DOT plans $400M rebuild for Chicago`s Circle Interchange

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
Carpooling or tolls could be a feature of a rebuilt Circle Interchange in downtown Chicago.
Illinois Department of Transportation Secretary Ann Schneider talked about the possible changes in a speech before the City Club of Chicago.
The state plans to rebuild the interchange where the Eisenhower, Dan Ryan and Kennedy expressways converge. Construction and engineering will cost more than $400 million.
Schneider said I-DOT is considering installing a "managed lane" at the interchange, which means it could either be restricted to cars with more than one person or tolled so that drivers would pay to use it during peak times.
