With the cold snap rolling through valley, homeless shelters are gearing up for an increased amount of people needing their help.
Employees at Central Arizona Shelter Services near 13th Avenue and Madison say the cold is just too much for people.
It's expecting around 800 visitors in the next few days.
Extra staff and volunteers will be brought in to account for the shelter, which normally beds about 670 people.
The shelter is also working with police to keep homeless off the street, but a spokesman says some simply refuse help.
