Sheriff Joe Arpaio says his office received a tip several months ago indicating a number of employees may have gained employment unlawfully.
Arpaio's office identified 21 suspects who were likely utilizing false identification. Only 9 of the suspected employees were at the store at the time of the raid, and they were taken into custody.
"My office will continue to enforce the state and federal immigration laws, if they want to change the laws it's okay with me, but as long as the laws are there it's my duty to enforce the laws," said Sheriff Arpaio.
Deputies are still looking for the others. This was the sheriff's 70th employer sanctions raid.
