CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

The FBI is searching for a man who robbed a Near North Side bank on Thursday afternoon.

The man entered the North Community Bank branch in the 800 block of North State Street about 2 p.m., approached a teller and demanded money, according to a statement from FBI spokeswoman Joan Hyde.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the robber ran south on State Street, Hyde said.

The robber is described as a 5-foot-10 to 6-foot white man with his face covered by a dark bandana, Hyde said.

He was wearing a Bears hat, scarf, and flannel coat, according to the FBI's Bandit Tracker website.

The FBI is investigating.
