Fulton County rises up for Atlanta Falcons

Fulton County employees are rising up for the Atlanta Falcons!

Officials with Fulton County say the employees were encouraged to wear the team colors of red and black as they attended a pep rally at the Fulton County Government Center atrium on Friday.

Entertainment, banners and balloons adorned the atrium. Ché Alexander, who helped organize the event, was inducted into the Pro Hall of Fame back in 2000.

"It was so fun. We had to do it in like two days. The employees were so excited about it, it was so easy. We reached out to the fan club and the different sponsors. They came together, and we're here! We've never done this before," said Alexander.

She said she was proud of the people who came out to the rally to support the Falcons.

The entertainment included a live disc jockey, the Grady High School drum line as well as former and current Atlanta Falcons cheerleaders.

Many of the Falcons fans said they have already reserved rooms in New Orleans to see their team play in the Super Bowl.

"Go Falcons. Represent Atlanta. We need you. Two games away from the Super Bowl. Just do it," said Alexander.

The Falcons take on the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Georgia Dome. The winner will head to the Super Bowl.

Fulton County Chairman John Eaves has made a friendly wager with his counterpart in San Francisco. Eaves is putting up a Coca-Cola gift basket, but plans on accepting fine chocolates from Supervisor David Chiu when the Falcons win.
