NEW YORK (AP) - A public school chorus from Staten Island is heading to Washington to sing during a prelude to President Barack Obama's inauguration.

Sen. Charles Schumer arranged for the 65 fifth-graders from P.S. 22 to sing on the west front of the Capitol on the morning of the ceremony. The inauguration is at noon Monday.

Choral director Gregg Breinberg told the State Island Advance "it's amazing." He said his students are "super excited."

The choir will sing "God Bless the USA," ''Home" ''On Top of the World" and "One Dream."

Schumer heads up the inaugural committee.

Previous P.S. 22 chorus groups have performed at the Oscars and the White House Christmas tree lighting.
