Posted: Updated:

The Delaware County District Attorney's office has announced that a local government worker has been charged with multiple counts of theft.

Christine M. Trout, of Glenolden, served as the county's chief deputy to the Delaware County Register Of Wills.   As a result of a three-month long investigation, it was revealed that Trout allegedly stole more than $160,000 over a five-year period, while serving the public.

The investigation alleges that she stole cash from files at the end of the work day.  She also allegedly changed reports and took cash from voided transactions.

Trout admitted to the theft and she surrendered on Friday, January 18.
