The FDNY says the body of a man was found inside a garage that went up in flames in Queens early Saturday morning.
Firefighters responded to a call of residential fire around 1:00 a.m. on 120th Street in the Richmond Hill section. The garage was detached from the vacant residence and was engulfed in flames.
The fire was extinguished and inside they found the unidentified man with severe burns.
EMS arrived to the scene and pronounced the man dead upon arrival.
Neighbors say the home was abandoned and boarded up with homeless people taking shelter in the garage.
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death and the fire investigation is ongoing.
