Boosted Police Patrols in Old City After Last Weekend's Brawl

The extra police presence was seen Friday night following last weekend's brawl between nearly two dozen people.

The Philadelphia Police Department announced extra patrols following the South Second Street fight that included several people banging and kicking on a car, before a man got out and a gunshot was fired.

"It definitely (left) a sour taste in my mouth so I would definitely like to see things change like more police presence is a great idea," said Stuart Greene.

He frequents 2nd Street often and said more police will make him feel more comfortable.

Business leaders and residents told FOX29 they support the move as well, but say the bar and restaurant district has already seen improvements within the last year following added Old City District patrol members.
